Welcome Habitat for Humanity’s Newest Basalt Vista Partner Family:
Jeremy, Lyssa, Arlo, & Willa Duncan
Lyssa moved to the valley in 2008 after spending two years serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in the country of Georgia. She had never spent much time in Colorado before moving here but after 12 years as a middle school social studies teacher for the Aspen School District, she is happy to have landed here. Jeremy moved to the Valley in 2009 for a six-month internship for Trail Running Magazine and never left, he currently works for the IT department at Pitkin County. They have two children, Arlo age 3 and Willa, 9 months old. Jeremy and Lyssa enjoy running in the backcountry (Jeremy much farther distances then Lyssa) and Jeremy being from Oklahoma and Lyssa growing up in Utah, she is trying to teach the whole family how to ski. Friends, community and everything the Valley has to do outside are the reasons why they think their children are lucky to grow up here. They are so excited to be first-time homeowners.
